Sometimes dropping a phone will damage the back glass. We strongly suggest you have this replaced. Not just because its aesthetically pleasing. Although that is an important part of having it repaired. 

Once the back glass is broken, the small shards of glass leak into the phone. The most common damage these small shards of glass cause is to your phone’s battery. 

The longer you leave your back glass unrepaired, the higher the chance is the glass will damage not only the battery, but the extremely delicate flex cables the are inside most phone models. 

Your charging port has a flex cable running the entire width of your phone. Most phones today have antennas, microphones and contact pins on the lower flex cable that houses the charging port. 

Most phones also have flex cables that connect the power, vibrate and volume buttons. 

When tiny shards of glass pierce the buss lines that run in these flex cables, then functionality is severely diminished or the part stops working all together.  

Often clients will stop in to because their phone is rebooting, or the volume / power buttons no longer working. 

The costs increase by a lot if you wait until something other than just the back is broken. 

In order to replace the flex cables for power and volume buttons, a tech has to remove every part including the motherboard from the phone.  

This can be a two-hour repair plus the parts. 

More often than not, once the back glass is damaged and not repaired in a timely manner, the further damage makes the phone prohibitively expensive to repair. 

This is why we suggest you have the back glass repaired as soon as you possibly can. 

Often clients will take this opportunity to change the color of their back glass. 

Perhaps you currently have a green back and would prefer a pink back glass.
